LGM crew rideA month later and we finally have great conditions for snowmobiling!!  The trails are open and there are lots of people travelling the lakes.  The crew here even got out for a weekend ride last weekend! Please be aware that there are areas of very deep slush.  Mississagua Lake has been staked from the old Trapper’s Inn bay.  The BDSC hosted its annual “Enjoy your Ride” Trail BBQ this past weekend at the 509 and E108 junction…it was a bit chilly and probably gave the BBQers a good test to see if they could keep the food warm!

We have been very busy not only with sleds but also getting started on boat repairs to help ensure a smooth start to the summer season that will be here before we know it.  If you have any requests for work to be done to your water toys, please let Sally know so that we can get everyone back in the water in a timely fashion.

Our hours for the rest of February and March are 9-4, seven days a week while the snowmobile trails are open.  Once they close, we will be closed again on Sundays.
If you aren’t one for snowmobiling but want to get out and enjoy this beautiful, snowy season, the area has lots to offer with ski hills around us, lakes with permitted ice fishing (please check local regulations), community center activities and ice rink thanks to our wonderful volunteers who work tirelessly to keep it in such good condition, and lots of areas to explore via cross-country ski or snowshoe that are hard to get to during other times of the year.

Finally, the snow has gotten quite heavy and is piling up on roofs quickly.  Please contact us if you have any concerns and we can help you make arrangements to have someone clear your roof.

All the best and we look forward to seeing everyone out enjoying this great season!

Snowy not Safe

Hope everyone is getting back into the swing of things after the holidays!  We’ve been busy here and now have all the sleds ready to go whenever the snow decides to accumulate.  As of Jan. 9th, the groomers have started packing the trails but they are not open yet.  Keep an eye on the BDSC website for status updates and the OFSC website for trail maps.
The lakes look very inviting but please don’t venture out there yet!  On Saturday, Mississagua had 6.5″ 30 ft. from shore and less than 2″ at 100 ft. It is going to take many more cold days and nights to be safe.

On a warmer note, I hope everyone gets to go to the Boat Show this week in Toronto and look at all the new toys!  Enjoy the weather and if you need anything please don’t hesitate to give us a call!

Santa's Reindeer

Santa’s Reindeer

Well a month has flown by! Its hard to believe its only one more sleep until the big guy in the red suit makes his annual debut…the elves are working overtime I’m sure.
Unfortunately, it doesn’t look like Santa is going to have the best flying weather this year, which also means our deliveries of snow toys have been delayed.  The lakes are not frozen yet and where you do see ice, please don’t venture out yet even on foot.  Its definitely not safe in most places.
The crew here did a happy dance on Friday as they joined all the kids getting out of school and started a 2 week break!  We are closed now until Saturday, January 3th.  Our hours starting January 3rd for the winter are Monday-Saturday 9am-4pm, CLOSED Sundays until snowmobile trails are officially open.

From everyone here at LGM, we hope you have a very Merry Christmas and we look forward to seeing you in the new year!
