Mar 25 Update

Just a short update. The ice is still looking strong and like it will be here for awhile. It is starting to pull away from the shores in spots and the getting on to it is a little harder. Anywhere there is water running it is strongly advised to stay away from those sections as the ice is very thin or non-existent. There is a history of some of our webcam shots now on the cavendish community centre site. We thought it was great that someone had taken the time to archive these and put them up. cavendishcommunitycentre.wordpress.com this link will put you there. Our hosting company for our website did some major server upgrades last weekend and since then some of our links. i.e. sales and cottage rentals go in to cyberspace for now. We are working to cure this problem and hopefully they will be back soon. Have a great weekend.

Mar 19 Update

What a gorgeous week! The weekend is looking promising as well. It has been warm and quite nice outside this week and the folks that have been tapping trees are getting lots of sap and sunburns. The snow is slowly melting away but with the cool nights there is still a fair amount in the woods. The ice is still being traveled but the shorelines are starting to be soft in spots. With the trail conditions being very limited now we are closed Sundays until May. We hope everyone has been enjoying the March Break. If you can’t get to the cottage this weekend don’t forget the Toronto Sportsman show is on so one could go and pretend they are out enjoying the lake. Have a great weekend!

Mar 10 Update

Just a quick note that we will be closed Thursday Mar. 12th as hydro is doing a shutdown for maintenance work on the lines for a good portion of the day. We will also be closed Sunday Mar. 15th as the trails for sledding won’t be travelable unless the forecasted rain accumulations turn in to snow!
