May 13 Update

Busy, busy, busy!! Between the weather and huge amount of boats we are trying to get in to the water there is no sleeping lately. The weather has been co-operating a little but the little critters haven’t! They are in good numbers late in the day because of the temps at night. I think they are hibernating until about mid-day. The water level has come up again and I am sure with tonight’s forecast it will rise again. We are looking at a fairly wet day tomorrow and another on Saturday so it shall be interesting to say the least. With temps in the evenings around the freezing mark late in the weekend it reminds me of (hmmmmm, May!). We are trying to get all the toys in on time but needless to say weather is playing a huge part in the process so be patient. The toy will arrive when we can get it there. It is always interesting trying to slalom through the docks, picnic tables etc. floating down the lake on 3 foot swells some days to get the boat back safely to it’s home. We are looking forward to seeing everyone up enjoying what the weather does or doesn’t do this weekend so stop by and at least get out of the weather if necessary. Last word was the newspapers should be showing up again as of Saturday. We hope everyone has a great week, safe drive up and better weather than the guy in the sky is forecasting!

May 5 Update

Wow, the ice left and it has been crazy here since. We have alot of boats in and alot more to go. Thankfully, the trilliums came out a couple of days ago and so did the blackflies!!Haha! They are starting to bite today and being their usual friendly selves. The weather looks like it might keep them hidden this weekend but we will see. For those trying to travel North of Pencil Lake Rd. the 507 is closed for a few days just south of Salmon Lake Rd. The highway developed a big sink section when a beaver dam let go a few days ago. They are in the process of trying to re-construct the road and have closed it until further notice. Our hours for May have changed to seven days a week and 8-5. If you haven’t contacted Sally by now about the boat for the long weekend it would be safe to say you won’t be seeing it!! The list is long and not really able to be compromised at this point. If you haven’t received a reply to your emails then that means we didn’t get them!!! The trees have started to let their leaves come out and the grass is starting to grow so be ready for the gardens and the mowing. A chance of frost again in the forecast so be careful about bringing too many flowers up until the forecast looks a little warmer for next week. Have a great week and we look forward to seeing everyone soon!

April 24 Update

The ice left on the 17th and the lake is being travelled again for another season. Just be aware of the floating docks, picnic tables(two spotted so far!) logs, etc. that are on the waterways. It has been a busy week and the weather was terrible off the start but has definitely improved for the weekend. No bugs yet, so hurry up and do your raking now before they start. Most of the roads are drying out quite well but some of the shaded areas on less traveled lanes are still a little soft. As a constant reminder please remember to let Sally know when you need the boat. The two week rule is definitely in force now as the lists are filling fast! Also, if you don’t receive a reply within 48 hours that means we didn’t get the message so retry. If you don’t receive a response that means you are not on the list!!!! Have a great weekend and we look forward to seeing everyone’s smiling faces over the next few weekends. Actually, our parking lot is filling up quite well this afternoon with lots of people back up for the first time and heading to the places of cottaging bliss!
