Welcome to Little Gull Marina!

Busy, busy putting boats away. It has been a great fall for the most part with the weather being quite co-operative. The winds the last few days have been something. I think it has been a number of years since waves this size were seen on Mississagua Lake. It was a good thing the water level was down so no real damage was done to shorelines etc. As mentioned we have been busy putting boats away. Our hours now for November are 9-4 Monday thru Saturday. We are closed Sundays until the snowmobile trails officially open. With the elections behind us we now have a new council. Unfortunately, Don Bowles did not make the council this time but there is always next time. Our new council: Janet Clarkson- Reeve, Ron Windover-Deputy Reeve, Bev Mathews-Harvey Ward, Don Lacombe-Galway-Cavendish Ward, and Madeleine Pearson-Councillor at Large. Congratulations to all and hope the next four years bring positive and great things to our township. Have a great weekend!

No excuses other than it is has been an awesome summer and there was just not enough hours in the day!! First off, the pic to the right is of the great summer staff plus Tyler our new addition in the spring (apprentice) This group of individuals is the key to our success in enjoying and serving the family of friends and customers on the lakes! We certainly have been so lucky to have this crew for so many years to ensure our continued growth!! We hope everyone has had a great summer and has enjoyed all the fabulous weather! It will go down as the summer of 2010 not to be forgotten. Early water levels were, well to say the least scary, but good ol’ Mother Nature came back and gave us record water levels throughout the summer. It helped that someone nailed the logs together at the dam!! We are now busy collecting all the toys and putting them to bed. If you haven’t talked to Sally yet about setting aside a bunk for the boat you better hurry as this might be the year we have to say sorry. We are at capacity and certainly don’t want to disappoint anyone but there is only so much room and time to make sure they are all put to bed. The municipal election campaign is well underway and I will update everyone in the next week on the candidates. I would do it tonight but apparently there was a few last minute hats thrown in to the ring and it will be early in the week before I can confirm the bearers of said hats! Thanks again for all the support shown over the summer and we look forward to serving all your fall requests for taking care of the toys. This time I will say I will be back sooner than later and we look forward to seeing everyone at least one more time before Thanksgiving! Back soon!

Another month has disappeared! What a gorgeous month it has been and with record setting water levels to go with it!(shhh, don’t tell the folks downstream) As usual the August long weekend is shaping up to be another great one. With the fantastic fireworks show planned for Saturday night, north end of Mississagua Lake, and the always awesome show of boats that go with it. As well, Hastings Marine will be on site here at LGM for another great weekend of wakeboarding and lots of new toys to ponder over or go for a ride in. The weather folks are promising us sun all the way through so we have to think, hmmmm, lots of water , sun, warmth, great things to do, must be going to the cottage!! We are already starting to book in storage and Sally reminded me this morning that we were at or a little above capacity last year so we definitely need to know who is coming to ensure there is a spot for those boats. Hope everyone has a safe drive up and enjoys what should be one of the traditional great weekends for mid-summer in the place we love to call home!
