Somehow the month of March flew by and here we are partway through April already! We are back up and running, working to get snowmobiles put away to make room for boats to come out.

As some of you know, Gord and his wife returned to their home in Vankleek Hill in order to be closer to family – the duties of Grandma and Grandpa were calling, and apparently grandchildren can tug at your heartstrings a bit!
As much as we are sorry to see him go, we are very excited to introduce you to the newest member of our LGM Team,  Michelle Botting, as parts and service manager. Michelle brings to our marina her friendly demeanor, positive attitude and a willingness to get the job done. Having moved to the area in 2015, Michelle is enjoying getting to know the warm and welcoming people of our community and we look forward to her contributions to our team and our customers in the months and years to come.

Please make sure you get in touch with Michelle at michelle@littlegullmarina.ca to make arrangements to have your boat out of storage, with a friendly reminder that we do require at least 2 weeks notice. That being said, there is still a lot of ice out there and this weekend sure doesn’t sound like winter is done with us just yet. Be careful though as the ice is pulling away from the shore and there is running water in some areas.

Stay safe this weekend.

Good morning. We hope everyone had a great family day weekend!  There were a lot of people up enjoying the weather, which unfortunately has turned in to being very wet for the next few days.  With the amount of rain they are forecasting, please remember to stay away from the lakes and any running water, as their thawing could cause some unexpected and very cold swimming lessons.

With spring starting to tease us, please start to think about any projects you may want completed before the toys get launched and let us know as soon as possible so we can get you in the queue, which is already growing steadily.

With the forecast moving forward, snowmobiling is looking like a bit of a dream in March rather than reality, so we have decided this year to close for the month of March. This will allow us and our staff a bit of a break and also an opportunity to get some long overdue projects done. We will be available by email, but the chances of getting an answer to phone calls will be greatly diminished for the month. We will be back open starting April 2nd.

Stay safe out there!

Happy New Year!!

Compared to what we have gotten used to over the past few years, there sure is a fair bit of snow and definitely lots of cold weather to get us back to a true Canadian winter feel! I see tracks on the lakes but haven’t heard any actual numbers for ice thickness yet, and have yet to venture out.  I’m thinking another week or so and I’ll check things out.

BDSC has their equipment out and going and seem to be doing a great job. Please respect their wishes and use the trails when they open them officially so that everyone can enjoy the best possible conditions. Trail status can be found on the OFSC website by using the link on our homepage or by clicking here.  You can also get your trail permits online. A reminder that we are open from 9-4 Monday – Saturday, and will open on Sundays when the BDSC trails officially open.

We hope everyone had a great holiday season and are looking forward to the Toronto Boat show which starts Jan. 12th.  If you need any assistance picking out the new toy please feel free to contact us at the marina to help with the decisions relative to your boating and water-toy needs! Also, remember for those requiring upgrades to their docks we can certainly take care of that as well.

Thank you to our fantastic customers and staff for making LGM possible and here’s to another great year ahead!
