April 25 Update

A mid-week for us marina people update. The black flies are starting to get a little hungrier now but with the dry conditions hopeufully they might not stay long. Really, really having dreamy thoughts on that one but we will see what happens. The water level is still low and seeing all the lakes I have passed in the last few days it looks like most of the province is in the same state( wishing for lots of rain!) I have received a solution to the mandatory boat license requirements for those that haven’t been able to be ready for spring yet. The nice , young lady that offers the swimming lessons through the summer at the marina is offering a course on the long weekend. Have a great week!

April 22 Update

Busy times trying to get the boats back in to the shallower water. The water is slowly coming up but not near normal levels yet. There is enough to start getting around but the temps at night are keeping us from wanting to launch any stern drives until the usual Mother’s Day. There was a good snow storm just north of North Bay yesterday so keeps reminding me it is April. The Blackflies started appearing yesterday afternoon but are sleeping in this morning with the cooler temps today. The roads have dried up well and actually are a little dusty with the lack of rain. As a reminder we are still closed Sundays until Mother’s Day weekend. Have a great weekend.

April 7 Update

The ice officially cleared out on late Saturday the 3rd. As those that were up over the weekend saw, we need a pile of water! As always, watch out for the floating debris, docks etc. as there seems to be the usual flotillas of it out there floating around. Have a good week.
