July 7 Update

I have said it a thousand times but where does the time go? It has been a great spring weatherwise for the most part but the last week has been unbelievalbe!! A touch too warm for those of us working or without hydro and working!! We, as usual are very busy and trying to keep up with all the fun that is to be had out there on the lakes!! Our summer staff are back in full force and enjoying seeing all the faces again. The girls and guys were kept so busy over the weekend they had a great time!! Upcoming, in the weeks ahead are a couple of great annual events for the area. Next weekend the annual rock bass derby hosted by Baldwin Bay Marina is in full swing and the following weekend is the One Big Day at the Cavendish Community Center. Please come out and join in on the great events and support, meet and enjoy the area and it’s residents! One note, one must be really early to get the best of the best baked goodies at the One Big Day evernt! shhhhh!! The water levels seem to be at normal levels for this time of year now which is good news and the moisture has also been welcome for the surrounding woodland area to slow down the threat of forest fires. Sally has been busy trying to keep the toy section of the store stocked with toys for all ages. She has even managed to secure some toys for us mature folks to make us look good in front of the younger ones!!! Warning! towboat not to exceed 20mph!!! Have a great week and see everyone over the next few weeks!!

June 6 Update

Like usual, been busy! It was a different weekend weather wise but nonetheless there was a number of people around. Like the last few springs there were a number of new faces in. We welcome all the new people to the area and look forward to getting to know you better and offering you our services to assist you in any way we can to ensure you enjoy your time in the area. The water level is slowly coming up and it looks like we are getting close to normal levels. It looks like we are within about 12 inches of being at high water. ( having said that that would be for early May levels!) According to the people that are dangling lines the fish have been biting quite well. No monsters yet but lots of fish being caught and most being released. The size and quantitiy is promising to the fish stock level in the system! The boat sales have been going strong and if you have any desire to upgrade your ride please don’t hesitate to give us a call to see if we can help out. As in years past Lori will be offering swimming lessons starting in July. The registration day is Saturday July 3rd at the point on site here at the marina. If you can’t make that date for registration drop Sally a line and she can put you in touch with Lori to ensure you are signed up and ready to go. As most can see we are almost back in full force on the site. We have a shadow of the sales section up and running and are just tweaking it to be released and running within the week! The Float Trailer section will be disappearing as the company has decided to drop their dealer network, we will leave the link up for a while to help those interested in the product to preview and then contact the company directly. Have a great week and we look forward to seeing everyone again. Just one last note, our hours for June are still 8-5 seven days a week. Summer hours of 8-8 will resume on July 1st , 7 days a week.

May 20 Update

Where does the time go? It has been crazy busy around here and no time to update. The boats are going in to the lower than normal water level and returning to their homes. The critters are starting to come out a little heavier now and seem alot hungrier. Pencil Lake area tonite was just unbelievable, more critters per square foot than the Congo!! I had so many bites I didn’t know which one to scratch! The weather forecast is looking a little better for the weekend as long as the Thunderstorms forecast don’t turn in to anything more serious like they are seeing to the south and west of us. Hope everyone has a safe drive up and enjoys the weekend.! Don’t forget Lori Harper is doing the boat course etc. on Sunday at the community center(see back in news) so if you don’t have the card it will be a chance to do so. Remember, the water is lower than normal so unless you want to keep our prop guy really busy adjust your travels to mid summer channels as opposed to spring levels. Bye for now. someone is waiting for their boat and must make sure it gets there!!
