We said we wouldn’t be back until the 2nd, but figured a weather update might be worth it. It sure is pretty nice out there right now with the snow sticking in the trees. The main roads have been well sanded but are still slippery and snow covered to help grind the snow into the ice. More importantly though, the lakes are not safe yet. The snow we are getting today could be deceiving as it covers thin ice but please don’t venture out. Some of the back lakes and sheltered bays have 3-4″ of good ice, but the main lakes and open areas have only a skim or an inch or two of bad ice. Stay safe this week – be patient (I know I’m one to talk, itching to get out for a ride) but not yet. Have a safe and fun New Year’s Eve and here’s to a great year ahead!
