Dec 23 Update

Ho,Ho,Ho! Merry Christmas to all!! Well, the big guy in the red suit is due tomorrow night, weather good or bad! It has been a busy couple of weeks around here and looking a lot like a white Christmas. As of today it looks like the groomers have been out trying to mold the snow we have in to trails that might be traversed next week if mother nature agrees. The lakes are still not frozen enough to venture out on to but with the temps of late we will see what happens in the next few weeks. Mississagua only froze across last night and I for one am not venturing out there for a while yet!! We hope everyone has enjoyed their time out shopping for the gifts and thoughts they have in mind for those special people on their lists. We would like to say a very big “Thank You!” to everyone who have supported us in this past year and we look forward to taking care of all your (time away from work) requirements in 2010!!! From Richard,Leah, family and staff we wish to everyone a great holiday season and a super, healthy and prosperous New Year!!!

Dec 12 Update

The snow has finally arrived in a grand fashion. Although, we have received far less than our neighbours to the near north we still have received enough to start us practicing how to move it again. Unfortunately, with no frost in the ground yet it has been a little difficult to move snow without giving the laneways a good scraping as well. Without the cold weather first this means that the new white blanket is holding the heat for the swamps etc. to make it impossible for groomers to get out and start working on the trails. All clubs in this area are requesting that everyone stay off the trails as they are definitely not safe yet. There has been lots going on at the Cavendish Community Center in the last month or so. The ball diamond has been fenced in, the ice pad has all new boards and curb to help keep the ice in when the temps are not co-operating and a new state of the art playground has been installed. It looks great and beckons to be used by everyone. The main lakes are still open so needless to say unless you still have a boat that you are shovelling out then it is a good idea to stay off of them for a while. Have a great week!

Nov 28 Update

Ahem, apparently I have been remiss in keeping up with the site!! It has been a very busy month with trying to finish up putting all the boats to bed. They just kept coming and coming which wasn’t a bad thing it just kept us hopping as the days and the water level just kept getting shorter. The weather hasn’t been terribly bad considering it is Novermber. The second week was unbelievably gorgeous and warm. It was the first time in years that I can remember not seeing snow or ice that week. Our water level has risen a little bit in the past week but that is largely due to all the water above us draining down. There is still a few boats running around with contractors trying to get in every day they can before the lake starts to freeze. To all our friends and customers south of the border, Happy Thanksgiving!! I hope everyone is enjoying the fall and lack of snow so far considering the west has been getting their share of precipitation. Apparently, the big fellow in the red suit is due in the next few weeks so if there is something we can help you find for the boater/sledder/atver in the family just give Sally a call and we can help you put that under the tree. Have a great week!
