March 12 Update

Marina Webcam Sat Mar 2011

March Break has begun! The weather looks like it might be co-operative until at least mid-week. This time of year always has some interesting weather. The lakes are still frozen but you just have to watch for the drain holes etc. which are a result of the rains of this week. Snowmobiling is marginal at best with most of the trails either listed as closed or limited. The conditions that the club has had to deal with have made it virtually impossible to do more than what they have. Considering the snowfall this year they did a fabulous job! There is downhill skiing available to the north at Haliburton as well as a private trail system that has awesome sledding conditions as of earlier this week. This is available at Haliburton Wildlife Reserve. These are just a few options that are available to fill in your days at the lake. We are starting to get busy again so if there is any jobs or updates you are thinking about for your toys please let Sally know asap so we can ensure they are completed by launch time. We also have a great selection of kayaks available again this year so if this is on your wish list let me know and I will set that special ride aside for softer water use. Also available, we have personal watercraft drive on docks to keep the toys safe. Whatever your spring needs please give us a call and we will get them taken care of so you can enjoy your summer. Have a great March Break and we will be seeing alot of you soon.

Feb 11 Update

Well the winter is carrying on and it is being, to say the least winter, but with some interesting weather thrown in. We are busy like usual and getting ready for another amazing summer with all indications showing that it is going to be a repeat of last year. The trails are now finally looking like we can enjoy some sledding! There have been quite a few people through that have been out enjoying the scenery and awesome sledding that has just and only happened in the last few days. So having said that winter is here so get out and enjoy. Have a great weekend!

Jan 25 Update

Back for another update. The lakes are looking pretty good with lots of tracks. There is a fair amount of slush out there but they seem to be passable. We were out for a short while on the trails today and listening to comments from others. The trails are in a limited condition and passable but that is the height of it so far. They desperately need some or alot of folks to do a very large snow dance!!!!!!!!! It is definitely winter with lots of ice huts on the surrounding lakes and people out enjoying what we have so far especially with the milder temps this week. Apparently, contrary to last year the fish are biting on the lakes surrounding our immediate chain from what the rumour mill is saying. The lakes that are supplying fish seem to be top secret though!! If you are planning a trip up don’t forget your shovel and skates to enjoy the weekend!
