The trilliums have opened and we all know what that means……….yep that’s right, blackflies have joined us.
On another note, our mechanics found these little guys in the back of a boat that was dropped off here this week. They’re just a few weeks old. Mom probably kept them in the boat to stay safe and dry. With some TLC from Leah and the girls, they are doing well and we’re waiting to see if anybody claims them.

Welcome to May! The snow is gone again and Mother Nature welcomed May with a warm, overcast day. The Trilliums are still closed so no little black critters out yet. Water levels are good, but watch out for floating logs!
Our hours starting on Mother’s Day weekend are 8am-5pm everyday.

Typical April showers showed up yesterday and today in the Kawartha Highlands. Still working away at trying to get everyone’s boats in but the wet snow and muddy conditions are not helping. So far the water is maintaining a good spring level. Lots of interest in the new toys that are coming out for the spring so on your next trip up stop by and see what the “kids” might like this year. Have a great week and look forward to seeing everyone soon!

Welcome to the first of April! This isn’t an April Fool’s Day joke…..it really is what we woke up to this morning in cottage country. We seem to be back to more seasonable weather. We have been really busy for the upcoming season and are looking forward to seeing everyone through the spring.

Well it looks like Mother Nature has thrown a curve ball this year. Does this mean March is going to go out like a lion?…. i guess time will tell…

There have been lots of requests for boats already, but we are still nervous about an early launch and the potential repercussions. The water is still very cold and there is always the potential for another blast of winter before we’re in the clear. I’m not putting my winter clothing away just yet.

Please don’t leave your spring wish list until the last minute as Sally has been quite busy processing all of the requests to date.

Welcome to March!!!! ……and winter.
We’re getting busy and looking forward to another great boating season. Its that time of year again. Call or email to book any of your projects that you would like to have completed before launching. The weather, like everywhere, has been up and down but we’re finally getting some winter up here which is allowing some to get out and play as you can see in our picture this month. The snowmobile trails seem to be in good condition. Have a safe and happy March Break and hopefully see you soon!

Fishing not catching

Well its been a strange winter! Snowmobilers have been out on the lakes…don’t know if you’d catch me out there yet or not (hard to believe I’m saying that in February!). Most of the Buckhorn trails have been groomed and are open – conditions are like early season conditions. This weekend saw lots of people out trying to enjoy what little winter we have so far. It was a gorgeous weekend and snowmobiling was pretty good for what we have been dealt this year weather-wise. Sally’s preparing her spring lists so if there’s anything you need please contact her soon to ensure its ready. Winter hasn’t given us much to think about so folks are on to the next season….maybe winter will show up in March! Look for us on facebook in the near future.
